Возможно ранее вы встречали стеклянные кухтыли, которые полностью запаяны. Сейчас эти предметы выглядят очень странно. А поскольку их можно найти возле моря, некоторые даже предполагали, что это предметы искусственного происхождения. Но на самом деле их изготавливали целенаправленно, и к каждому такому кухтыльку приложил руку стеклодув. Зачем их производили, и где использовали, я и предлагаю разобраться в этой публикации. Также затронем тему, где сейчас можно найти кухтыли.
Итак, кухтыль — это искусственно созданный стеклянный шар, полностью и герметично запечатанный, который использовался в рыбной ловли в качестве поплавка для сетей. Принято считать, что первые такие поплавки начали изготавливать в 1840-х годах в Норвегии. Размеры кухтылей сильно отличаются в зависимости от сетей, и имеют размеры от 3-4 см до 50-60 см в диаметре. Они использовались как обычные поплавки и служили для того, чтобы сеть не ушла на дно. Норвежский опыт переняли и многие другие европейские страны. Но предположительно больше всего стеклянных поплавков произвели в стране восходящего солнца. Япония начала производство своих поплавков примерно с 1910 года. Интересно, что с ростом производства поплавков, их начали маркировать эмблемой производителя или заказчика. Поэтому более современные кухтыли преимущественно имеют маркировку, а в старых она отсутствует.
Японцы предположительно произвели больше всего стеклянных поплавков в мире, поскольку изготовление кухтылей в этой стране прекратилось только в 1980 году. В США, к примеру, подобное производство стартовало в 1930-х годах. Интересным фактом является то, что в рамках ленд-лиза, СССР получило от США около 690 тысяч таких кухтылей, которые были направлены во Владивосток для рыболовного промысла. Эти поплавки имели маркировку на русском языке. Также следует сказать, что с формой и цветом кухтылей производители экспериментировали, а некоторые редкие образцы могут стоить достаточно дорого.
Стеклянные поплавки сейчас, разумеется, в силу их стоимости не используются. Более практичным и дешёвым решением являются варианты из пластика и других схожих, современных материалов. А вот старые стеклянные кухтыли могут стать хорошим украшением для домашнего интерьера или даже музейным экспонатом. Конечно же, их можно приобрести на различных аукционах, или поискать на онлайн досках объявлений. Для того чтобы найти такие изделия под ногами, придется отправиться на Курилы, там их можно искать на одном из песчаных пляжей, особенно после штормов, в тех местах, где течение идёт со стороны Японии. Говорят, что беспроигрышным вариантом найти кухтыли, является поездка на мыс Терпения на Сахалине. Ну и чтобы вас никто не опередил, лучше подбирать время для поиска после шторма с самого утра. В интернете есть множество видео о том, как люди собирают кухтыли на побережье буквально как грибы после дождя.
