Кроме того, есть более трех миллионов способов сочетать элементы, чтобы получить катализатор, и невозможно проверить их все вручную.
Для решения этой задачи, группа ученых из Китая придумала робота-химика с искусственным интеллектом, который может самостоятельно делать катализаторы из метеоритов и подбирать лучшую формулу. Робот-химик состоит из нескольких частей, которые связаны между собой и управляются компьютером. Он может перемещать, взвешивать, смешивать, нагревать, охлаждать, измерять и тестировать образцы катализаторов с помощью разных приборов и датчиков. Он также может использовать модель машинного обучения, которая основана на теории и практике, чтобы предсказать свойства и эффективность катализаторов из разных сочетаний элементов. Таким образом, робот-химик может сам находить оптимальный катализатор из миллионов вариантов.
Ученые провели ряд экспериментов с роботом-химиком, используя четыре разных марсианских метеорита, которые были найдены на Земле. Они показали, что робот-химик может делать катализаторы из метеоритов с высокой точностью и эффективностью, и что эти катализаторы могут выделять кислород из воды с низким расходом энергии и долгим сроком работы. Они также сравнили катализаторы, сделанные роботом-химиком, с обычными катализаторами на основе платины и иридия, и обнаружили, что марсианские катализаторы не уступают или даже превосходят их по характеристикам. Они оценили, что если бы человек пытался сделать то же самое, что робот-химик, то ему потребовалось бы около 2000 лет.
Этот проект является важным шагом к освоению Марса, так как он доказывает, что можно производить кислород из местных ресурсов с помощью робота-химика с искусственным интеллектом.
