Жители Канарских островов объявили войну приезжим. Они заявляют, что им надоели британские туристы, которые «пьют только дешевое пиво, лежат на солнце и едят некачественную еду». Жители добавляют, что им надоел шум и мусор – два аспекта, которые сопровождают сезонный наплыв отдыхающих.
В беседе с Daily Mail жители острова четко и ясно заявили: «Хватит». Они призывают к мораторию на эту отрасль, а также к введению туристического налога и ужесточению контроля.
За последние несколько дней возле курортов появилась волна новых антитуристических граффити с надписями «туристы идут домой» и «слишком много гуири».
Гуири – это разговорное испанское слово, часто используемое для обозначения неотесанных иностранных туристов. Таким словом часто называют гостей и эмигрантов из Северной Европы или Америки.
На одном плакате было написано: «Местные жители вынуждены уехать, и ВЫ несете за это ответственность… цифровые кочевники, вам здесь НЕ рады».
Но, похоже, некоторые британцы сопротивляются такому настрою обитателей Канарских островов, и рядом с одним из лозунгов на английском языке нацарапано: «Отвали, мы платим вам зарплату!».
Напряженность на острове растет, поскольку все больше и больше людей присоединяются к призывам ограничить туризм. Во вторник на этой неделе в Санта-Крусе запланирована акция протеста, получившая название «Сальвар Ла-Техита» («Спасите Ла-Техиту»).
Участники кампании проведут пресс-конференцию, на которой изложат свои требования, а затем проведут марш с транспарантами. Позже в этом месяце, 20 апреля, ряд экологических и социальных групп планируют провести вторую масштабную акцию протеста.
На плакате с анонсом будущего мероприятия говорится, что у Канарских островов «есть предел» и что протестующие будут маршировать за «сохранение природных пространств, туристический мораторий и ужесточение регулирования для иностранцев, покупающих недвижимость».
Основное недовольство местных жителей вызывает рост стоимости аренды и покупки домов. Технический работник Иван Серденья Молина (36 лет) помогает организовать протест в этом месяце в рамках своей роли в местной природоохранной группе ATAN: «Это кризис, мы должны срочно что-то менять, люди живут в своих машинах и даже в пещерах, а местные жители не могут хорошо есть, пить и жить».
Компании, которые предлагают варианты аренды жилья туристам, Иван Серденья Молина назвал «раком, которые постепенно поглощает остров».
Иван родился и вырос в Эль-Медано, когда-то тихом городке, расположенном примерно в 20 минутах езды к востоку от самого популярного туристического курорта Лос-Кристианос.
В пасхальные дни этот район был заполнен отдыхающими, которые заполонили пляжи и парковали десятки джипов на некогда охраняемой территории.
Местная 63-летняя художница Вики Коломер рассказала: «Я чувствую себя здесь иностранкой, я больше не чувствую себя комфортно, как будто все сделано для британских и немецких туристов, которые просто хотят пить дешевое пиво, лежать на солнце и есть гамбургеры и чипсы. Нам нужны туристы более высокого уровня, которые действительно хотят познакомиться с нашей культурой и едой и которые будут уважать нашу природу. Это был рай, но теперь это не так, и это меня злит. Мы должны сократить количество рейсов и туристов и сосредоточиться на привлечении более качественных путешественников».
Она добавила: «Несколько недель назад возле моего дома иностранные туристы устроили рейв с диджейской будкой и динамиками посреди поля, это неприемлемо. Местные молодые люди все больше устают от невозможности найти достойную работу. Они учатся годами и поступают в университеты, но единственная работа, которую им предлагают здесь, — это в отеле, ресторане или баре, поэтому всем нашим молодым талантам приходится переезжать на материк, если они хотят сделать достойную карьеру».
Дополнительной проблемой для жителей Тенерифе также становятся пробки, отмечает Вики Коломер: в высокий сезон в заторах можно простоять до полутора часов.
«Даже общественный транспорт взят под контроль, на днях гид без очереди заскочила в автобус и взяла с собой 20 туристов, местные жители были вынуждены ждать следующего автобуса», – приводит пример местная жительница.
Биолог Энн Стриве также упомянула о пагубном влиянии туризма на дикую природу: «Каждый день в наших водах плавают сотни лодок и гидроциклов, загрязняющих воду бензином. А еще есть вечеринки на лодках, на которых целый день звучит музыка. Люди не понимают, что китов и других существ это пугает и сводит с ума. Между тем, было множество случаев, когда животные были ранены или убиты винтами лодок».
По данным экологической группы Salvar Tenerife, миллионы литров сточных вод сбрасываются в море у берегов Тенерифе и других островов каждый день, причем это количество значительно возрастает, когда на острове много отдыхающих.
Энн добавила, что местные жители устали от того, что правительство отдает приоритет туризму: «Из-за недавней засухи подача воды была отключена в некоторых районах вдали от курортов, но не в отелях и на полях для гольфа».
Энн настаивала на том, что в требованиях ужесточения контроля нет «ничего личного» против отдельных туристов, но люди достигли своего предела и хотят привлечь внимание правительства и средств массовой информации, отсюда и провокационные граффити.
