Но недавно в центре внимания ученых оказались не сеноты, а их морские «кузины» — голубые дыры. Эти гигантские воронки, врезающиеся в морское дно, представляют собой настоящие окна в подземный мир, скрывающий множество загадок.
В 2023 году в Чемуальском заливе на юго-востоке Юкатана была обнаружена голубая дыра Таам-Джа (Taam ja’ Blue Hole), которая моментально приковала к себе взгляды ученых всего мира. Первые исследования, проведенные с помощью эхолокации, показали, что ее глубина достигает 274 метров, что на тот момент делало ее второй по глубине голубой дырой на планете.
Однако эхолокация, как метод непрямого измерения глубины, имеет свои ограничения. Сложная геометрия подводных пещер, изменения плотности воды с глубиной и другие факторы могут искажать результаты. Поэтому для подтверждения данных требовались прямые измерения.
В декабре 2023 года команда исследователей во главе с Лаурой Каррильо из научного центра ECOSUR провела серию погружений с использованием CTD-профилографа — прибора, который измеряет температуру, соленость и давление воды на разных глубинах. Результаты превзошли все ожидания: CTD-зонд достиг отметки в 423 метра, не достигнув дна! Это открытие сделало Таам-Джа самой глубокой из известных на данный момент голубых дыр, оставив позади даже знаменитую китайскую «Дыру дракона» (Sansha Yongle Blue Hole) с ее 301 метром.
Но на этом сюрпризы не закончились. Анализ данных CTD-профилографа позволил ученым выявить несколько слоев воды с различными характеристиками. Верхний слой до глубины 5 метров — это, по сути, вода Чемуальского залива, подверженная влиянию рек и подвергающаяся колебаниям температуры и солености. Ниже начинается царство стабильности: температура и соленость меняются незначительно, формируя четкие границы между слоями.
Однако на глубине более 400 метров происходит нечто удивительное: температура и соленость резко возрастают, приближаясь к значениям, характерным для Карибского моря. Это открытие наводит на мысль о возможной связи Таам-Джа с подземными реками и туннелями, соединяющими ее с океаном.
Исследование Таам-Джа только начинается. Впереди у ученых — множество вопросов, требующих ответа. Какова истинная глубина голубой дыры? Какая жизнь скрывается в ее глубинах? Какова ее роль в региональной гидрогеологической системе? Возможно, Таам-Джа станет ключом к пониманию сложных процессов, происходящих в недрах Юкатана, и откроет новые страницы в истории формирования этого уникального региона.
Как образуются голубые дыры?
Голубые дыры — это карстовые образования, возникающие в результате растворения водой известняковых пород. Во время ледниковых периодов, когда уровень моря был ниже, дождевая вода просачивалась сквозь трещины в известняке, образуя подземные полости. С повышением уровня моря эти полости заполнялись водой, формируя уникальные подводные пещеры, которые мы называем голубыми дырами.
