В обществе вполне устоялось мнение, что каждый следующий иностранный язык учить проще, однако и здесь встречаются свои трудности, подчас неожиданные. Проблемы, которые возникают во время изучения второго, третьего языка, я бы отнес скорее к нюансам психологическим. Приведу здесь те трудности, которые появлялись лично у меня во время изучения немецкого (первый — английский) и которые я наблюдал у своих знакомых.
1. Интерференции (проще — путаница)
Разумеется, самая очевидная проблема — новый язык пытается нагло влезть в другой. Бывает и наоборот.
Главная интерференция для меня была лексическая. Когда я говорил по-английски, в голову лезли недавно изученные немецкие слова, тогда приходилось на секунды 2-3 осекаться, чтобы подыскать правильное слово в английском.
У других я часто подмечал, когда вмешивалась английская фонетика. Например, английское слово hat (шляпа) читается с «лягушкой» — æ, а немецкий глагол haben в форме 3 лица — hat (имеет) — с твердым a.
Поскольку глагол нужен для построения прошедшего времени и употребляется очень часто, люди регулярно наталкивались на эту преграду. Аналогичная ситуация касается твердости звуков. При переходе с английского люди обычно смягчали произношение слов.
На мой взгляд, корни проблемы кроются в том, что ты погружаешься в другую среду и игнорируешь на время старое, привычное. Кстати говоря, то же самое мы можем заметить и по современному русскому языку. Большое количество заимствований связано с тем, что в сети на порядок больше англоязычного контента.
Решение: терпение и труд.
2. Реальное время обучения
Большинство людей начинают учить первый иностранный язык уже со школы и к завершению 9-11 класса получают какую-никакую базу. На основе этого знания довольно легко «доучить» язык (каким бы слабым не казался уровень).
Так или иначе реальный опыт взаимодействия с языком намного выше. Когда я начал учить немецкий, я уже около 15 лет касался английского — не учил усиленно, но как минимум цеплял здесь и там по вещице. С началом изучения немецкого я смело принял стереотип о том, что второй язык действительно будет учить легче. Мои ожидания состояли в том, что я схвачу немецкий в самые краткие сроки.
Самое смешное, что при изучении второго языка возникает ощущение всесилия. Будто, прочитав один учебник, ты сразу схватишь все. То есть ожидания завышены до нереальной планки. Если с английским я рассчитывал на долгосрочные результаты, то с немецким я ожидал улучшений за 40 минут.
Для статьи я расспросил своих друзей, которые знают несколько языков, и они подтвердили, что испытывали похожее ощущение.
Неприятное решение: признать, что ты новичок и чуть смерить пыл.
3. Обманчивая схожесть
Именно в случае с английским и немецким в глаза сразу бросается сходство между языками.
Например, глаголы have и haben мало того, что звучат похоже, так еще и несут практически одинаковую грамматическую роль! Довольно много слов (не латинизмов) тоже, оказалось, похожи и явно имеют одинаковое происхождение.
Мой мозг тогда выработал хитрый трюк: если я не знаю слова на немецком, можно пробовать создать его по английскому образцу. Получалось далеко не всегда и звучало, мягко говоря, странно и глупо, особенно когда я говорил с немцами.
Решение: намного больший прогресс я заметил, когда начал подходить к немецкому «по-немецки», избегая английской ступеньки посередине и не используя намеренно это отвлекающее упрощение.
4. Меньше материалов для изучения
При переходе с английского проблема материалов сразу озадачивает. После англоязычного интернета немецкий сегмент кажется каплей в море…
Сперва оказываешься в чистом поле: не хватает опыта (вновь вернемся к п. 2 — «Реальное время обучения»). Много времени уходит лишь на то, чтобы найти дельный подкаст, книги, аудио и сериалы.
Также неожиданно встала проблема, заключающаяся в том, что в Европе к контенту относятся строже, чем в России и США, и действительно интересные материалы оказывались закрыты за разномастными подписками. Спасением тогда стал Нетфликс, но сейчас это, к сожалению, не вариант.
Полезный навык, который частично решит проблему: нужно гуглить на изучаемом языке. Таким образом отсеиваются сообщества любителей языков и упрощенные материалы. Появляется приличный шанс наткнуться на «внутреннюю кухню».
Парадоксально, но лучшие материалы находятся в сообщениях десятилетней давности на форумах…
5. Сниженная мотивация
Если английскому можно найти уйму практических применений, помимо потребления контента, то с прочими языками одной мотивации для «общения с культурами» будет очень мало, особенно если учишь язык самостоятельно.
Среди моих знакомых, которые учили немецкий, процентов 90 забили. Я тоже был довольно близок к тому, чтобы оставить эту затею и забросить мечту когда-нибудь стать полиглотом (до сих пор на пути).
Решение пришло само собой: нужно найти мотивацию внутри языка. Мало-помалу я втянулся в немецкую культуру и начал слушать больше музыки на немецком, с горем пополам сперва смотрел фильмы и сериалы, постепенно «вчитался» в литературу и особенно полюбил стихи. Теперь многие мои любимые произведения — на немецком, и они стали неотъемлемой частью моего, так сказать, культурного бытия.
Осознание озвученных проблем довольно сильно помогает мне сейчас в изучении французского. Я чувствую, что действительно прогрессирую намного быстрее, хотя и свободного времени стало намного меньше.
Надеюсь, что мой опыт пригодится читателям и добавит мотивации расширять свой языковой арсенал.
