Американская компания Google сегодня, 20 мая, объявила, что будет использовать свой центр обработки данных в городе Хамине (провинция Кюменлааксо в Южной Финляндии) для обеспечения устойчивого отопления района. Поисковый гигант уже установил партнерские отношения с городской энергетической компанией Haminan Energia для реализации проекта.
Интернет-компания заявила, что дата-центр в Хамине работает на 97% безуглеродной энергии, а это означает, что рекуперируемое тепло также будет на 97% безуглеродным. По данным компании Haminan Energia, рекуперированное тепло поможет удовлетворить 80% годовой потребности в тепле местной сети централизованного теплоснабжения — это снимет нагрузку с источников энергии.
Отметим, что компания Google уже делает это,
«Google и город Хамина имеют долгую и процветающую историю. Google — отличный пример компании с сильной ориентацией на устойчивое будущее. Приятно быть родным городом Google в Финляндии», — сказал Илари Соосалу (Ilari Soosalu), мэр города Хамины.
В соответствии с планом компании Google, она хочет к 2030 году достичь нулевых выбросов во всех своих операциях и цепочке создания стоимости. В рамках этой цели компания будет круглосуточно и без выходных работать на безуглеродной энергии во всех своих офисах и центрах обработки данных.
