Хотя NVIDIA под давлением американских властей вынуждена отказаться от поставок самых передовых ИИ-чипов в Китай, на более слабые решения приходится снижать цены из-за ожесточённой конкуренции с Huawei, предлагающей собственные варианты.
Вызов тем более значимый, что на Китай приходилось 17 % выручки американской компании в фискальном 2024 году. Рост конкуренции с китайским техногигантом также посылает негативные сигналы инвесторам.
В прошлом году NVIDIA, доминирующая на рынке ИИ-чипов, представила три модели, специально разработанных для Китая с учётом санкционных требований американских властей, запретивших продавать в КНР более передовые решения. Сегодня NVIDIA H20 считается самым высокопроизводительным вариантом из тех, что официально продаются в Китае, но три источника Reuters сообщают о переизбытке запасов, что свидетельствует о слабом спросе, а продавать их приходится с большими дисконтами, на пятки наступает Huawei Ascend 910B — самый производительный вариант китайской компании. При этом NVIDIA не может позволить себе потерять часть гигантского рынка.
По данным китайской CCID Consulting, китайская ИИ-индустрия в 2035 году должна превысить 30 % общемирового рынка, а NVIDIA отчаянно пытается сохранить баланс, не нарушая американские законы и в то же время сохраняя присутствие в КНР. По мнению экспертов, «NVIDIA определённо готовится к худшему в долгосрочной перспективе».
В ходе недавнего финансового отчёта, посвящённого I кварталу, топ-менеджеры компании предупредили, что дела у NVIDIA идут в Китае значительно хуже, чем раньше в связи с санкциями. В частности, значительно пострадал сегмент продуктов для дата-центров из-за введённых в прошлом октябре новых ограничений. Ожидается дальнейшее обострение конкуренции.
По мнению аналитиков, в долгосрочной перспективе положение NVIDIA на китайском рынке будет значительно зависеть от того, насколько успешно она будет конкурировать с Huawei. Последняя только в прошлом году выступила в качестве реального конкурента американского вендора и, как ожидается, в этом году поставки Ascend 910B будут стремительно расти, причём ускоритель по некоторым параметрам превосходит модель H20.
За последние полгода только пять из государственных или окологосударственных китайских компаний проявили интерес к H20, в тот же период Ascend 910B покупали десятки местных компаний. Даже ослабленные чипы NVIDIA A800 и H800 запрещены американскими властями к продаже в Китае — США пытаются ограничить прогресс КНР в сфере информационных технологий. Мешает бизнесу NVIDIA и продвижение Пекином китайских чипов буквально в директивном порядке.
H20 поступили в широкую продажу в КНР в прошлом месяце, на собственно доставки клиентам уйдёт немногим более месяца. Некоторые из китайских техногигантов уже сделали заказы, например, Alibaba, по данным ряда источников, заказала более 30 тыс. штук.
Сегодня дистрибуторы серверного оборудования продают H20 в Китае приблизительно по 100 тыс. юаней за ускоритель, а сервер на восемь ускорителей стоит около 1,1-1,3 млн юаней. Для сравнения, Huawei 910B стоят по 120 тыс. юаней, а сервер на восемь ускорителей — 1,3-1,5 млн юаней, цены могут отличаться в зависимости от объёмов заказа.
По прогнозам SemiAnalysis, во второй половине 2024 года в Китай будет поставлено около миллиона чипов H20, но NVIDIA должна предлагать выгодные цены для того, чтобы успешно конкурировать с Huawei. Сообщается, что производство H20 стоит значительно дороже H100 из-за большей ёмкости памяти, при этом H20 продаётся вдвое дешевле из-за более низкой производительности.
Впрочем, в целом NVIDIA чувствует себя весьма неплохо. Отчёт за I квартал свидетельствует о выручке в $26 млрд, на 18 % выше квартал к кварталу и на 262 % — год к году.
