Китайский стартап Galactic Energy потерпел первую неудачу, отправив в космос относительно небольшую ракету Ceres-1 со спутником Jilin-1 Gaofen-04B на борту. Коммерческий аппарат принадлежал занимающемуся зондированием Земли стартапу Changguang Satellite Technology.
Старт успешно состоялся 21 сентября в 07:59 (по московскому времени) с китайского космодрома Цзюцюань. Тем не менее спутник так и не вышел на орбиту, как планировалось.
По данным Galactic Energy, оставившей сообщение в социальной сети Weibo, ракета летела в нештатном режиме и миссия не была выполнена. Проводится расследование причин произошедшего. Ceres-1 представляет собой четырёхступенчатую конструкцию около 19 м, способную вывести на орбиту до 400 кг. Она дебютировала ещё в ноябре 2020 года. До сбоя в четверг успешно выполнено 9 полётов.
Хотя до вчерашнего дня у Китая, успешно выполнившего 43 космических миссии подряд, не было неудач в космосе в текущем году, в целом для человечества неделя выдалась неудачной. 19 сентября ракета Electron калифорнийской Rocket Lab не смогла вывести на орбиту спутник компании Capella Space.
Это первая неудача Rocket Lab с весны 2021 года. Galactic Energy не только выводит с помощью Ceres-1 в космос небольшие грузы, но и параллельно конструирует ракету побольше — модель Pallas-1, которая будет способна доставить на низкую околоземную орбиту порядка 5 т.
Дебютный полёт должен состояться в 2024 году. Хотя этот вариант ракеты будет одноразовым, в перспективе предполагается использовать первую ступень многократно. Старт Pallas-1 с многоразовым компонентом запланирован на 2025 год.
