Не успели в Европе разобраться с постельными клопами, как нависла новая угроза. Теперь внимание специалистов приходится рассредотачивать на два фронта.
Переносчик вируса денге — азиатские тигровые комары. Если обычно заболевание в Европе диагностировали только у вернувшихся из азиатских стран путешественников, то на конец октября зафиксировано уже 105 случаев местного заражения. 66 человек заболели в Италии, 36 — во Франции и трое в Испании. Но фактически зараженных может быть гораздо больше, поскольку у 50-90% людей болезнь проходит бессимптомно.
Ситуацию осложняет тот факт, что неинфицированные комары тоже могут стать переносчиками, заразившись при укусе больного человека, и потом передать вирус здоровому. Кроме того, зараженный вирусом комар отложит зараженные яйца, из которых появятся новые комары с вирусом денге.
Как говорят ученые, размножаться взрослые особи любят в теплых и влажных местах. Достаточно поставить под растениями на балконе контейнер с водой — это будет идеальным инкубатором.
— То, что мы наблюдаем в Европе, является новой проблемой. Это чрезвычайно адаптивный комар из-за своего генетического разнообразия. Но для создания популяции потребуется несколько лет, — говорит медицинский энтомолог Дидье Фонтениль.
Бороться с комарами, которые распространяют лихорадку денге, помогают другие комары. В некоторых странах уже существует такая практика — в города Индонезии и Вьетнама завозили комаров, инфицированных вольбахией. Это бактерия, которая предотвращает передачу вирусов насекомым, и число опасных комаров снижается.
