Японский стартап EX-Fusion представил амбициозный план по
очистке околоземного пространства от космического мусора с помощью мощного
наземного лазера.
Суть идеи заключается в использовании высокоэнергетического
лазерного луча для выталкивания обломков спутников и других космических аппаратов
на траекторию, которая приведет к их сгоранию в атмосфере. EX-Fusion планирует
использовать свой опыт в области ядерного синтеза для создания лазера,
способного генерировать мощный направленный луч. Такой лазер будет установлен
на наземной платформе, которая станет отслеживать космический мусор. Лазерный
луч будет фокусироваться на обломках, передавая им импульс и изменяя их орбиту.
После изменения орбиты обломки войдут в атмосферу Земли, где сила трения и
тепло приведут к их разрушению и сгоранию. Этот процесс известен как
«атмосферный вход», и он является естественным способом удаления отслуживших
свое объектов из околоземного пространства. EX-Fusion считает, что лазерная
система может стать эффективным средством для очистки орбиты. Преимуществом
этого метода является его бесконтактный характер, который позволяет избегать
риска столкновения «космических мусорщиков» с обломками или повреждения
действующих спутников. Помимо технических сложностей, реализация проекта
EX-Fusion также потребует решения международно-правовых вопросов. Околоземное
пространство является общим ресурсом, и любое вмешательство в его состояние
должно осуществляться с согласия и под контролем международного сообщества.
Несмотря на это, EX-Fusion уверен в успехе своей миссии. Компания планирует
начать испытания лазерной системы в 2025 году и приступить к полноценной
очистке орбиты в 2030 году. Если проект окажется успешным, он может внести
значительный вклад в решение проблемы космического мусора и сделать околоземное
пространство более безопасным для спутников и других космических аппаратов.
