В США открывается Международный афроамериканский музей. Музей, расположенный в Чарльстоне (Южная Каролина), построен на месте, где когда-то стояла пристань Гадсдена, откуда около 45% порабощённых африканцев попало в Америку.
В музее будут представлены экспонаты, посвящённые формированию афроамериканского национального самосознания, а также центр генеалогических исследований, который поможет желающим отследить своих предков на момент их прибытия в Новый Свет.
Одним из определяющих элементов внутреннего сада является «Дань приливу» — эфемерное представление схемы невольничьего судна «Брукс», ставшего знаменитым изображением крайне негуманных условий транспортировки во время Трансатлантической работорговли.
«Дань приливу» опирается на рельефные фигуры, каждая из которых представляет мужчину, женщину или ребёнка, которые лежали в кандалах в брюхе кораблей, когда-то стоявших на якоре у гавани Чарльстона.
Между тем, в уже действующих музеях Америки имеются весьма шокирующие экспонаты культуры Черного Континента. «Центральноафриканская лира, XIX век».
Метрополитен-музей Нью-Йорка, честно указывает о своих составляющих: «Человеческий череп, волосы, рога антилопы, кожа, струны из кишок».
Как известно, одним из правителей XX века в бывшей французской колонии, Центрально-Африканской Республике, являлся людоед Жан Бокасса. Сегодня одно из беднейших государств мира раздирается борьбой противостоящих племенных группировок, поддерживаемых русской частной военной компанией Wagner.
