Ученые провели эксперимент, в котором поместили образцы лунного грунта, зараженные бактериями, в специальные контейнеры, имитирующие условия на Луне. Затем они добавили воду и свет и наблюдали за изменениями в грунте в течение нескольких недель. Результаты показали, что бактерии успешно адаптировались к лунным условиям и увеличили содержание азота, кислорода и органического вещества в грунте. Также ученые обнаружили, что бактерии способствовали образованию агрегатов грунта, которые улучшают его структуру и водоудерживающую способность.
Эти результаты демонстрируют потенциал использования бактерий для создания более благоприятной среды для выращивания растений на Луне. Это может иметь большое значение для будущих лунных миссий, которые планируют строить базы и колонии на поверхности Луны. С помощью бактерий можно создать самодостаточные и устойчивые системы жизнеобеспечения, которые будут производить кислород, пищу и другие ресурсы для лунных поселенцев.
