Когда я услышал, что мне кто-то звОнит, я уже одевал шапку, чтобы сходить в этот ихний магазин. Обычно подобная фраза провоцирует сетевых лингвистов сделать деликатное замечание.
Строго говоря, мы пока все еще «заложники» определенной нормы, и слово «заложники» тут подобрано точно: некоторые из нас до сих пор перепроверяют себя мысленно прежде, чем сконструировать ту или иную фразу, чтобы произнести ее вслух.
А все потому, что это искусственная норма.
Язык наш — друг наш!
Язык развивается по своим законам, которых мы не знаем, но он точно умнее и хитрее нас. Ряд этих законов, как и иных в мировой культуре, носят совершенно необъяснимый характер: они возникают спонтанно, потом спонтанно исчезают.
Сравните:

И ведь мы не сможем сейчас объяснить, почему в «одинаковых» словах в одном случае мы говорим «ё», а в другом «е». Когда-то, очень давно, наши соотечественники вдруг решили, что после мягкого звука перед твердым под ударением нужно говорить [о] вместо [э].
Так появилась, к примеру, берёза, которая вытеснила березу и так далее. А потом, также вдруг, наши соотечественники делать это расхотели, и часть слов у нас — вот такая, а часть — эдакая, потому что полноценного перехода [э] в [о] так и не состоялось.
Мы частенько делаем ошибки в подобных словах, потому, что нет разумного объяснения. Даже некоторые иностранные слова подпадают у нас под горячую руку: «афера» и «афёра» — частый пример такой ошибки.
Раньше было лучше?
Сомневаюсь, и хотя мне и самому многое режет слух сегодня, думаю, что и я режу слух для некоторых. Я любитель ввернуть ради красного словца старую норму… Например, я произношу: достато[шн]о. И нет, не потому, что хочу быть похож на Людмилу Прокофьевну из «Служебного романа».
Я стараюсь ставить ударение «фОльга», как в словаре Фасмера:
Хотя, разумеется, современная фонетическая норма уже давно это ударение переставила.
Лев Толстой и грамотность
Со словами «одел» и «надел», например, тоже не все так просто… Конечно, мы приучаем себя различать себя эти глаголы, но строго говоря делать это необязательно: язык все решил за нас. Увы, но рано или поздно новая норма вытеснит старую.
Как это случилось с глаголом «обуть», например: многие из нас говорят обул в значении кого-либо, но при этом «я набул ботинки»?
«Одеть» в значении что-либо — совершенно литературное слово:
Большим критиком такой «грамотности», кстати, был Лев Николаевич Толстой. Но тут надо помнить то, что рассказывают о Толстом на филфаках еще до того, как знакомят с его творчеством непосредственно: он и сам периодически писал так, что нынешний волосы дыбом.
Как классический пример используется цитата из Хаджи-Мурата:
Накурившись, между солдатами завязался разговор.
Так или иначе, Толстой, конечно, в любом случае гений мировой литературы, но реальность такова, что «Одел» писали и Лесков, и Горький, и многие другие…
Есть версия, что окончательно против слова ополчились именно в Советский период, а это значит, что изменения, которые предложили языку, носили тоже революционный характер, а язык — этого не любит, конечно, и свое забирает.
Звонит
Этот тезис лучше всего проиллюстрирует для нас любимый классический пример отделения «своих» от «чужих». И вновь парадокс: но правильно-то, по законам языка говорить с ударением на первый слог, и однажды (мы вряд ли доживем), но будет — так, потому что язык свое возьмет.
Это ударение он забирает уже давно, и для многих слов новая норма уже актуальна, либо допустимо «и так, и сяк».
Вспомним, как часто мы поправляем людей, которые говорят: «мАнит», «дАрит», указывая им, что «вообще-то не манит, а манИт». И действительно ударение в подобных формах давно начало перемещаться ближе к началу слова. Вон, ну еще Некрасов же: «Посмотрит — рублем подарИт».
Сейчас мы спокойно «мАним» людей обещаниями, «дАрим» им подарки, но при этом — вот удивительно — звонИм им, если не удается встретиться, хотя слова-то одни и те же, и, согласно законам языка в будущем новой нормой закрепится именно «звОнит», надо подождать.
О том, что слово уже вытесняет и замещает «неестественное», свидетельствует опять же язык: массовый житель страны давно перешел на эту форму, но он в этом не виноват. Это не безграмотность, это — закон языка, вот и все, который не любите искусственных вмешательств.
Ихний
Сейчас слово используется, и, хотя мы можем отнести его к просторечным, нелитературным, в литературе используется, конечно, но зачастую для создания либо комического эффекта, либо речевой характеристики персонажа.
Впрочем, в ранних грамматиках, где-то с оговоркой, где-то и без местоимение это перечислялось. Считается, что одним из первых, кто стал считать это слово «нормальным» был педагог А. М. Пешковский, потому что… ну реально же странно: «свой», «мой» — есть, а «ихнего» нет. Где притяжательная форма, когда она так нужна?!
Язык и так лишился многих форм и категорий: у нас теперь меньше чисел (два против трех), хотя слово «волосы» или «колеса» все еще напоминают, что чисел в языке было больше. У нас меньше времен, у нас меньше падежей… Ну хоть «ихний»-то оставьте!
Впрочем, давайте отдадим должное пока что: все же абсолютной литературной нормой такие местоимения пока все же не признаны:
хотя мы видим, что это не за горами. Мы говорим эти слова, они становятся все более естественными, а значит язык продолжает свое развитие: хотим мы или нет, но в будущем он одержит победу.
Вновь хороший пример: Беларусь и Белоруссия. Сейчас мы с уважением к нашим друзьям уже почти научились говорить и Беларусь, и Республика Беларусь, но наш-то язык все еще требует от нас «Белоруссии», потому что «Беларусь» — искусственно введенная для нас норма, и сам русский язык пока до нее не дошел, но со временем все может измениться.
