Достаточно много статей в интернете посвящено тому, как учить языки с нейросетью, однако авторы часто пытаются преподнести ChatGPT как универсальный инструмент, который позволит решить все проблемы: даст текст, переведёт его, расскажет правила, скорректирует все ошибки… В данной заметке попробуем обозначить, почему нет смысла учить грамматику с чат-ботом.
Кто-то может сразу возразить: «Правила в языке одинаковые, какая разница, кто их объясняет?». Но я предлагаю всё-таки посмотреть на разницу между учебником и набором статей в интернете / ответом чат-бота.
Учебник, как правило, пишется одним человеком, чаще всего опытным преподавателем, который знает, как доходчиво и ёмко объяснить грамматическую тему. При этом автор неуклонно идёт по своей линии и всегда опирается на близкий ему подход. Грубо говоря, если автор учебника выступает за то, что язык нужно постигать интуитивно, вряд ли туда проскочат бесконечные таблицы — и наоборот. С чат-ботами же возможно совершенно всё.
Плохое связывание контекста
ChatGPT очень часто путается и при одном и том же запросе может выдать разные ответы, что вряд ли пойдёт на пользу тому, кто только начинает учить язык.
Пример из английского
Я попросил бота перевести мне фрагмент из сказки Киплинга, где верблюжий горб (hump) написан с нарочной ошибкой (humph). В первом ответе горб стал хамфом, а зашифрованное Киплингом выражение веди себя хорошо (humph yourself) — сам себе хамфай, что ещё относительно подходит по смыслу. Второй ответ правильно передал слово горб, но последнее выражение уже провёл по аналогии — горбись.
В общем и целом, не очень опытный ученик может столкнуться с противоречиями на ровном месте. Там, где, казалось бы, время должно экономиться, придётся дополнительно запрашивать ответы у бота, чтобы выяснить мелочи, которые человек улавливает намного быстрее.
Ассоциации
Бот совершенно не может подбирать лёгкие ассоциации или создавать мнемонические правила, которые очень сильно пригождаются в изучении языков.
Пример из немецкого
Я задал простой вопрос ChatGPT: «Доходчиво объясни отличие между падежом Dativ и Akkusativ применительно к месту.»
Как можно заметить, бот выдал объёмный ответ. Достаточно легко в нём найти изъяны. Пример предлогов отличий не содержит, что может легко запутать пользователя. Самая же важная мысль, что различием является «местоположение» и «направление» несколько теряется на фоне.
Посмотрим, что по этому поводу говорит Илья Франк, автор знаменитого метода параллельного чтения, в учебнике «Немецкая грамматика с человеческим лицом».
Итак, при вопросе куда? употребляется винительный падеж, а при вопросе где? — дательный. Но когда вы говорите по‑немецки, вам некогда проверять себя вопросами. Поэтому, чтобы скорректировать речь «на ходу», лучше ориентироваться на то, происходит ли передвижение (и тут вы представляете себе стрелку), или просто где‑то что‑то находится (представляете себе точку в пространстве).
Не стоит воспринимать цитирование как рекламу, у этого учебника достаточно много минусов, и в дополнение к нему в любом случае придётся изучать огромное количество прочих материалов, но пример является весьма показательным случаем того, что нейросети не стремятся, как мы, к упрощению сложного материала. Стена текста и казённый язык здесь противопоставлены всего двумя ассоциациями: стрелочкой и точкой.
Пример из английского
Я попросил ChatGPT привести мне ассоциацию, которая помогла бы легко объяснить грамматическое время Perfect. Замечу, что я не указывал, прошедшее, настоящее или будущее время меня интересует, чистая грамматика.
Я, конечно, представил, что смотрю на событие или действие, которое произошло в прошлом и относится к настоящему, как что-то, что завершилось и оставило след… В общем, мне тяжело понять подобные ассоциации. Вдобавок бот приводит случай Present Perfect, когда меня интересует только время грамматическое.
Я же объясняю этот вопрос так:
Как переводится Perfect? Идеальный, но в русском языке есть ещё синоним — «совершенный». Это значит, что действие совершилось, свершилось или даже совершится, а теперь мы только чувствуем его последствия либо будем ощущать их в будущем. Эта «совершённость» будет фигурировать везде.
Пример
Past Simple: I broke my promise — я не сдержал обещания (и всё, никакого дополнительного смысла не появляется, отношения к настоящему моё действие уже не имеет). «Точка во времени».
Present Perfect: I have broken my promise — я не сдержал обещания (но я намекаю, что что-то произошло после). «Точка и от неё пунктирная стрелочка».
Неполнота примеров
В случае, если ученику понадобится узнать все исключения из правила, все склонения
После второго запроса бот всё равно не исправился и сколько-нибудь разумного списка добиться не удалось, бот начал склонять каждое слово. Рукотворные же таблицы к этой грамматической теме легко гуглятся за 5 секунд.
Итак, ChatGPT является не очень удачным инструментом для изучения грамматики. Точные вопросы требуют большого количества запросов, которые начинающий попросту сделать не сможет из-за нехватки соответствующих знаний. Вдобавок боты неспособны упрощать мысли и подбирать ассоциативные ряды, к которым мы привыкли и которые значительно помогают в понимании сложных грамматических тем. Несмотря на все достоинства нейросетей, грамматику я бы оставил целиком за людьми.
