Хотя сама идея звучит довольно странно, как завязка низкосортных фильмов, стартап BrainBridge обещает, что пересадка голов в ближайшие 10 лет не просто станет возможной, но и будет осуществляться автоматически — роботами-хирургами.

На фоне такой инициативы эксперименты Маска с мозговым интерфейсом Neuralink кажутся довольно безобидными. Новая технология даст людям с тяжелейшими заболеваниями второй шанс. Операции будут выполняться с помощью ИИ-алгоритмов, которые станут управлять автоматизированными руками — для отделения головы от тела и «подключения» к донорскому, включая «склеивание» спинного мозга с головным, «сшивание» нервов и сосудов. В процессе станут применять специальный специальный медицинский клей и полиэтиленгликоль.
По словам аль-Гаили, BrainBridge предлагает первую в мире концепцию пересадки голов, предусматривающую использование революционной робототехники и ИИ. Технология даст шанс людям с неизлечимыми болезнями, включая рак и нейродегеративные заболевания вроде Альцгеймера и Паркинсона.
Первый раз учёный упомянул своей инициативе в соцсетях ещё в прошлом году и сообщил, что «дорожная карта» на восемь лет даёт ему время справиться с существующими вызовами, вроде трудностей «починки» спинного мозга. По его словам, перед пересадкой голов BrainBridge займётся именно операциями на спинном мозге.
Впрочем, медицинское сообщество не спешит с восторгом встречать новый проект — это уже не первая инициатива, предусматривающая пересадку голов, но пока ни одна из них не увенчалась успехом. Так, итальянский доктор Серджио Канаверо, обещавший пересадку ещё в 2017 году, пока так и не пошёл дальше пересадки частей тел двух мертвецов.
На сайте самой BrainBridge указывается, что проект находится в «концептуальной фазе», поэтому желающим добавиться в список ожидания рассчитывать в обозримой перспективе не на что.
