Один из таких нейропептидов, названный GLWamide, оказался особенно интересен. Его количество в организме гидры снижается после еды, что коррелирует со снижением аппетита. GLWamide также обнаружен у других животных, включая насекомых, и известно, что он участвует в регуляции аппетита.
