В мире авиации существует множество интересных
технических деталей и особенностей, на которые не всегда обращают внимание
неспециалисты. Одна из таких деталей — направление вращения пропеллера
самолета. На первый взгляд может показаться, что все винты самолетов должны
крутиться одинаково, в одну и ту же сторону. Но это не всегда так.
Начнем с одномоторных самолетов. У подавляющего большинства
из них пропеллер вращается именно по часовой стрелке (если находиться перед
самолетом и смотреть на него спереди). Эта «традиция» осталась в авиации со
времен первых самолетов и связана с особенностями запуска «старинных» двигателей
на заре авиации. В те времена, когда еще не было электрических стартеров, практически
всегда двигатели, техникам обслуживающим самолет, приходилось для запуска
раскручивать винт самолета вручную. Для техника, который скорее всего
оказывался правшой (а правшами были и есть большинство людей), удобнее браться
за лопасть правой рукой справа от себя и тянуть ее вниз, что и определило «стандартное»
направление вращения. Интересно, что это направление вращения винтов, ставшее
традиционным, сохранилось и в наше время. Даже на небольших современных
самолетах с двумя двигателями чаще всего пропеллеры будут вращаться в одном
направлении — именно по часовой стрелке. Правда на первый взгляд это может
показаться не совсем логичным. Ведь в ситуации когда винты вращаются в разных
направлениях, их крутящие моменты «взаимно компенсируются» и это значительно упрощает
управление самолетом.
Однако в авиации, как и во многих других отраслях,
практические соображения часто перевешивают стремление к оптимальности. В
данном случае ключевым фактором является унификация деталей. Когда оба
двигателя имеют одинаковое направление вращения, их детали и компоненты будут абсолютно
взаимозаменяемыми. Это существенно упрощает обслуживание и ремонт, снижает
количество и номенклатуру необходимых запасных частей и, в конечном итоге,
повышает экономическую эффективность производства и эксплуатации самолета.
Правда по мере увеличения размеров и «мощности»
самолетов, конструкторы стали отходить от этого стандарта. На тяжелых
транспортных самолетах с четырьмя двигателями (по два на крыло), например
Airbus A400M, винты вращаются в противоположных направлениях. Это решение
позволило лучше сбалансировать «силы» двигателей во время полета и существенно улучшить
управляемость самолета. В данном случае победило «стремление к оптимальности»,
а экономика отошла на второй план.
Интересная ситуация с винтами сложилась на самых больших
и мощных в мире турбовинтовых самолетах, например на Ту-95. Здесь инженеры
пошли еще дальше. На каждый двигатель таких самолетов устанавливаются сдвоенные
винты, вращающиеся в противоположных направлениях. Такая конструкция двигателей
позволяет максимально эффективно использовать их мощность и минимизировать
нежелательные «побочные эффекты», связанные с вращением винтов нескольких
двигателей в одном направлении.
Поэтому каждое решение при выборе направления
вращения винта двигателя самолета — результат тщательного анализа множества
факторов, от исторических традиций и удобства обслуживания до аэродинамической
эффективности и управляемости самолета. Ну и экономическая составляющая,
конечно, тоже учитывается.
