Олимпийское дежавю: река во французской столице слишком грязна для пловцов
Паралимпийские соревнования по триатлону во французской столице пришлось отложить из-за опасений по поводу загрязнения реки Сены.
В рамках проходящих в Париже Паралимпийских игр соревнования по триатлону, запланированные на воскресенье, были отложены из-за новых опасений по поводу качества воды в реке Сена, пишет The Guardian с ссылкой на PA Media.
Одиннадцать соревнований должны были начаться с заплыва в реке в воскресенье утром, но организаторы заявили, что состязания паралимпийцев пришлось перенести из-за ухудшения качества воды после дождя в предыдущие два дня. Соревнования были перенесены на понедельник, если продолжение тестирования покажет улучшение качества воды, отмечает PA Media.
В заявлении World Triathlon была подтверждена отсрочка после встречи с представителями оргкомитета Paris 2024 и французскими властями в 3:30 утра в воскресенье.
“Последние тесты показывают снижение качества воды в реке после дождей, которые шли в течение последних двух дней”, — говорится в заявлении, в котором говорится, что соревнования продолжатся в понедельник, если тесты воды будут соответствовать “установленным мировым стандартам по триатлону”.
Оргкомитет “Париж-2024” и World Triathlon вновь заявляют, что их приоритетом является здоровье спортсменов и при таких условиях соревнования по паратриатлону не могут состояться сегодня».
Первоначально соревнования по триатлону были запланированы на воскресенье и понедельник, но были объединены в один день из-за прогнозируемого дождя, отмечает PA Media.
Соревнования по мужскому триатлону на Олимпийских играх в прошлом месяце, в которых в итоге победил британец Алекс Йи, были отложены на 24 часа из-за опасений по поводу качества воды, из-за чего также были отменены тестовые заплывы, напоминает The Guardian.
Паралимпийцы Великобритании возлагают большие надежды на успех в соревнованиях по триатлону, поскольку Лорен Стедман защищает титул PTS5, который она завоевала в Токио три года назад, отмечает PA Media.
